Flame of Recca is about a high schooler named Recca Hanabishi (Hanabishi Rekka), who aspires to be a ninja and is obsessed with anything ninja-related. After meeting a girl named Yanagi Sakoshita ( Sakoshita Yanagi), who he acknowledged to be his princess (hime in Japanese), and a mysterious woman named Kagero a.k.a. (), who apparently attacked him for no reason at all, he finds that he not only come from a long line of famous ninjas, he also can control fire. Recca and his friends (Domon Ishijima ( Ishijima Domon), Fuko Kirisawa ( Kirisawa Fūko), Tokiya Mikagami ( Mikagami Tokiya), Kaoru Koganei ( Koganei Kaoru)) must grow stronger in order to protect Yanagi from being taken by Kurei () and his adopted father the evil Kouran Mori, who wants eternal life, and believe that Yanagi's myterious healing power is the key to it.
